Her words were like the sun
Brilliant stars inside the night
A million points of view
To bless her countenance with light
They shone with wonderous wisdom
Into vast eclectic beams
Of lyrical enlightenment
And effervescent dreams
His words appeared as colors
But they slowly turned to black
A vacuum-sucking shadows
Born of heartbreak, loss, and lack
He tore across the fabric
Of a cold December sky
Blocking out her beauty
Sparkling mischief for the eyes
Snuffing out the fires
Of the starlight in her verses
Replacing saving graces
With a universe of curses
But she would not be silenced
By oppression he would spill
She used his dark intentions
As a cut before the kill
Now witness as he dies
Like shooting stars go flashing past
His countenance of lies
Became as rain that never lasts
For truth is not concealed
The same as gravity prevails
We’re crushed by what we try to hide
Exposed by grave details
Now all her words return
To light her world like diamond rays
Burning through the darkness
Shining hope for brighter days
