The stars are not stars at all…do you believe this?
They are reflections of a reality that doesn’t exist
Just my opinion…for what it’s worth
Some believe them to be angels
Can you imagine?
Subject to interpretations based on fabrications
From magnificent minds and scientists
Stories we’ve been told, yes?
About how our planet is fixed in space
Spinning at one-thousand miles per hour
And how this planet is spinning…
Sixty-seven-thousand miles per hour around the sun
Or how our whole solar system is flying
Five hundred-fifteen-thousand miles an hour
Through an endless universe…how strange?
Never crashing into anything
Yet the north star never moves…why?
Civilizations built pyramids
Magnificent temples
Worshipping fixed groups of stars
Sacred stars that never move?
That is, from our point of view
But this is the official story we were told
I’m not entirely convinced
Don’t truly trust the science anymore
But then again, we only know what we’ve been told
I don’t believe in round or flat
It’s something different, but not that
We’re supposed to choose a side, aren’t we?
He’s one of them flat-earther’s
She’s a globe-tard
And so it goes…
I’m not truly sure of anything these days
I’d like to go back to a time before questions arose
The time of simple explanations
Trust the experts, Thomas
When space was explained to me as a child
The stars were for wishes…remember?
Weather fixed or shooting into nothing
Look! There’s another one…
Make a wish, Thomas, make a wish
The moon was for astronauts and wonder
Supposedly, we landed on it
But somehow, we lost the technology to go back
Very strange, wouldn’t you agree?
As I got older, space was home to monsters
Flying saucers and little green men
Creature-Double-Feature on Saturday morning
All kinds of threats…threats from space
It was the place of meteors that killed the dinosaurs
I was sad when I learned that the dinosaurs died
More so than the buffalos
The Indians were guided by stars
I don’t believe they made wishes
But they were fixed markers in space
Reflections of a reality that may
or may not have held truth
Stars that were fixed, that moved over us
Not from some spinning ball
We talked about this earlier.
When the world was young and stupid.
Maybe that’s too harsh a word.
How could the world be stupid?
Intelligent design isn’t stupid, is it
Any more than a human brain
Exploding in consciousness
From a big bang…seriously?
People are most definitely stupid.
They need to believe a something
Bigger than themselves
I feel this way now
Still, we only know what we’ve been told…
Such as moving through the universe
At half a million miles an hour
And nothing is ever out of place
There’s another one, Thomas…
Make a wish
