In the realm of your desires
You speak in multiples of tongues
Tangled somewhat mangled
In the essence of a kiss
What need do we have for words?
Those quiet moments building bonds
Of love beyond incredible
But languages are negligible
For unspoken is the golden rule
The wisdom of a king or fool
The less we say, the more we know
We show intentions in our touch
Unspoken in those moments
When our words fell at our feet
Feeling…watching as you’re watching me
Saying more by talking less
Dancing in the living room
This Masquerade, I think it was
Your soft hand holding my neck
Electric, ecstatic, automatic
I hold your lower back
Press you close, but not enough
Looking into your eyes
I saw the future in a flare
Find the answers that you seek
Between this silence, we now share
The weakest link is when we think
Force-feeding our ears
Too much info feeds our fears
Fear of falling
Fear of change
So strange
For change appears
In time
In moments grand yet so sublime
Those wonderous days of careless ways
Inhibitions stripped
Lost inside your cingulomania
It’s not just Yoko Ono’s song
We reminisced on Beatlemania
Exploring shades of nymphomania
Sailing on those cotton waves
We sank beneath our lusts
Falling headfirst into heaven
Not afraid to fly, snow-white clouds
Soon, it turned to dust
Opening our mouths again
Nurturing distrust
But back to cingulomania
You thought I’d let it slip
Wrapped inside those loving arms
While shooting from the hip
Eventually, those hugs dissolved
To uninspired shrugs
The more you learned to pray
Seemed the less you had to say
A propensity for schisms
Believed in almost everything
Your coexisting bumper sticker
Made me sicker by the day
Chased our unchaste vibes away
Found you had too much to say
Dogma getting in the way
And all in all was one
Your new-found faith did make me wait
For tender touch, once coveted
Fractured much like light through prisms
Fusing colors into gray
Tainting everything you say
Life replaced by omnism
Lusts were left outside those churches
Poisoning your mind
Your new-found faith didn’t last too long
Lyrics in a gospel song
Where once we prospered face-to-face
Clearly, you did fall from grace
Femininity replaced
Virago overshadowed
All your rage came to the surface
Temper flared like secret suns
Contentions screamed; anger spun
What once was mystic magic
Waxed so tragic in the end
Cutting ties with lies
Swords of loss slice fast as pens
So different from those glory days
Where bodies so did speak
Silence turned abusive
Leaving reasons inconclusive
Seeing with the mind’s eye
Picture perfect; my regrets
Madness leaves a history
I never will soon forget
